This labour of love has been in the making for 7 years. It has taken on sooo many forms, and none that I had been settled with until now. This song is a dedication to the knowledge we all possess, the yearning within our hearts… to connect, learn and grow. Jimmy The Lark
In June 2023, I finalised a composition commission for a childhood friend.He wanted something special to give to his Dad for his 80th birthday. I was in the privileged position of knowing my friend and his family for decades. As we talked and brainstormed back and forth, the direction of the piece became clearer and clearer. The brief was to make it fun. Lively. In total, between working full time and my active family life the piece emerged bright as a button in about 4 months. This man’s journey through his 9 decades of fruitful living, came to life in a very special way through the music, and not only was the family (and the birthday boy) deeply touched by the result, but I was utterly delighted as well.
